Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
The holidays are an exciting time of year. But between the parties, socialising, added stress and copious amounts of food available, it's also a time when people can gain weight. In fact, between mid-November and mid-January, adults gain an average of half a kilogram. This may not seem like a lot, but most people don't lose the weight they gain over the holidays straight away. For this reason, holiday weight gain is one of the biggest contributors to total annual weight gain for many people. The good news is that weight gain during the holidays is not inevitable. We must also remind ourselves to keep this festive season in perspective, it is maybe one or two weeks out of 52 weeks of the year. Whatever we do over this period, we carry with us in to the year – good or bad. Remember the greatest gift you can give yourself this Christmas is the gift of health and self-confidence. I would like to wish all my Christian members a blessed Christmas, and for each and every one of my members a peaceful festive season filled with love and laughter.
